It is in my opinion (which isn't very experienced, but still my opinion) that T-shirt quilts should be simple and special. Simple squares and a simple colored fleece are all that is needed. After all, the t-shirts hold the memories and you are just 'piecing' them together. :)
I would like to encourage you to use this time before the hectic holiday season to consider making a quilt for the special people in your life. I made this one for my brother and it is now being regularly used on my nephew's bed. What a blessing!
