Bicycle Wheel Wall Piece

Using a bicycle wheel as wall art seemed like a good and unique idea. My mind was set, I went, found one, and put it in my classroom so I could use it to display my notes and pictures. (I hung it up using command strips so they'd be strong enough to hold the weight and not damage the walls). Initially the students were confused by my choice in decoration, but it didn't take long for them to admit that it was a "cool" concept.

So it's been over a year and I found that same old wheel and Caleb said he could use it in his room. Obviously, this made me feel good. My idea was 'cool' enough for my little man, which is the greatest compliment ever. :)

We are slowly adding pictures and knick knacks.

Painted Dish Detergent Jar

I discovered another use for old jars!! :)
I know, thrilling.
Caleb wanted to help me with my jar paintings, so I gave him his own project.
After looking at his finished piece, not only did I want to keep it (it's artwork) but I wanted to figure out how to use it.
So I decided to use it as a dish detergent holder.

I hope you can use this idea and make something beautiful and useful with your little ones.

Blessings!!!

T-Shirt Quilt

It is in my opinion (which isn't very experienced, but still my opinion) that T-shirt quilts should be simple and special. Simple squares and a simple colored fleece are all that is needed.  After all, the t-shirts hold the memories and you are just 'piecing' them together.  :)
I would like to encourage you to use this time before the hectic holiday season to consider making a quilt for the special people in your life. I made this one for my brother and it is now being regularly used on my nephew's bed. What a blessing!

Wooden Signs 2

Recycled Play Table

Our much loved train table was perfect. Perfect to play on, create on, and snack on. But there came a day when little brother could not only pull up on the train table, but could climb and sit on it causing mass destruction.
Therefore, I had to come up with a cheap alternative which resulted in this recycled play table.
I took apart an old card table from my parent's shop, spray painted the base and then recovered the top.

We have a collection of old calendars Caleb loves and also play mats that have come with various toys so I decided to use those to cover the table.

Caleb and I had some fun quality time and made the table even more unique by adding stickers. Once we were finished 'decorating', I used plastic vinyl to seal the deal.

I know the lighting is off, but here it is, a totally free and totally recycled play table. The perfect height to keep my big guy happy. :)

Many Blessings!!
