Grateful for Grandma

On Wednesday, February 11, 2015 Grandma Fitzgerald (101 years old) was welcomed at the feet of Jesus. I have no doubt that He said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Words cannot express how thankful I am for her life and example. If only I could be more like Grandma...
She was quite a woman- both quick-witted and a true spitfire. Always doing what she had to do because it needed to be done. From her humble and generous hands she gave away all that she could, made items for all who were in need, and shared a smile and a laugh with all she came into contact with. With the same hands Grandma would slap you for misbehaving and then hug you for obeying. Her genuine love for all and contagious smile made her irresistible and unforgettable. What a blessing it is to experience first hand her legacy!

Science Birthday

In order to properly celebrate my oldest son's birthday we had to have a SCIENCE BIRTHDAY!

Complete with a Periodic Table of Cookies...

Test tubes filled with candy...

Decorations made from pictures taken from my father's observatory...
Rockets made from paper...
Explosions made with Diet Coke

And everything served with Blue Bell Ice Cream (yummy!).

Hope you had a BLAST my sweet 7 year old!

Special Birthday Treats

Can I please just show off the special treat? My sweet room mom did this for my birthday and I can't tell you how much it meant to me!
I mean come on- who gets a doughnut that is decorated like a cupcake that has their name on it?
I love this picture 2015!!
Did you see my donut?!?!!
I know I say it all the time, but it is true. I am so blessed by where I work, who I work with, and the sweet families that are there!!

Blessings!!!

Sweet Gifts from Sweet Friends

Just wanted to share another sweet birthday gift idea from one of my dearest friends. :)
The simple jars made perfect by adding personalization and the fun bow!
Inside is all you need to feel beautiful! Well maybe not all you need, but the essentials!
My friend was also kind enough to use our school colors as inspiration for the nail polish. Did I mention she is brilliant? That was just one other way she made the gift even more thoughtful.
A sweet simple gift like this is enough to make getting older a little easier.

My most recent birthday is by far the sweetest as you can see below!

Please make somebody else feel special on their birthday or just any day with this simple gift idea!

Blessings!!

More Sewing Projects

The lighting is off, but I love this font!!

My sweet Grandma would make these changing pads for my oldest by using hand towels. I absolutely LOVED them & now I make them for gifts!

Blessings!!!

Classic yet Modern Nails

She's a lady!!! You know that song? That's how I feel with these beautiful nails. Modern with a touch of zebra print - my favorite!
Hope you can use this to get some other good ideas!

Blessings!!!
