Prayer Album

I know I'm not the only one who likes to stare at my phone while lying in bed. Furthermore I can guarantee I'm not the only one who enjoys looking through my photos and reminiscing over the captured memories. I'll even be so bold as to say I'm sure you've done this too. :)

The other night I was doing this and was praising God for my boys, my blessings. It was then that I realized how I could best use my time by not only looking at the pictures but praying over those in them.

I decided to take it a step further and created a prayer album and filled it with photos that would remind me to pray for things like my family, relationships, and upcoming events.

This picture reminds me to pray for my husbands and sons relationship.

This is a picture from my unborn nephew's reveal party. It reminds me to pray for his health and development (and also for his parents). :)

This picture was taken at Caleb's pre-K graduation but I look at it and pray for the upcoming school year.

I hope you will consider using your pictures as a prayer list and utilizing that night time photo surfing as a prayer time. :) Praise The Lord for every precious blessing you have!!

Baby Steps

Baby steps are unstable, shaky, and can be scary for both baby and parents. However, at the same time they are freeing, mobilizing, and life changing.
So why is it that we so frequently use phrases like, 'just take baby steps' or 'just take one step after the other' as a way of easing the journey?
Today I thought about this while questioning some decisions in my life. While tasks often seem overwhelming, especially as a parent, sometimes even the small 'steps' are challenging as well.
FORTUNATELY, as a believer in Christ, I can trust that God will take care of me and my family when we're running or barely even walking. Praise the Lord that He cares about the steps I take, especially the baby ones.

Swimming Rules Sign

It's that time of the year.... SWIMMING SEASON!!!
Although wearing swimsuits is NEVER a welcomed task around here, enjoying the pool is :).
For my sweet Mother-in-law's birthday my husband & I made her a Pool Rules sign.
My husband did a great job constructing the sign and I painted it with as many bright colors as possible.
The only thing I forgot was to clearly state NO RUNNING. Technically the Be Careful encompasses the concept of no running by the pool, BUT that is still a hard for a 5 year old to understand. ;)
The only thing not pictured is the brightly painted blue stake we attached to the back so it could easily be stuck in the ground & removed at the end of the season.

Many blessings & Enjoy your family this 4th of July!!
